5 meditation apps that are truly calming

Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state.

I personally meditate on a daily basis. Its how I start my morning. It brings me peace and calmness when I need it most. Meditation has been around for many many years, it even dates as far back as 5,000 to 3,500 BCE. However, most people do not know how to meditate. Thankfully nowadays we have an app for everything. I use the calm app to meditate every day but there are other apps that are also readily available. Here is a list of meditation apps that can help you achieve your own sense of calm.

Calm App- The calm app includes the following categories: Meditation, sleep, music, body, masterclass, Scenes. One of the features I love the most is when they have a special guest like Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, LeBron James and, many more.

Headspace- Headspace also has simular categories as most meditation apps. Their categories include The wake up, move mode, sleep, and, meditation. Headspace has a large list of articles that will keep you updated on anything mindfulness.

Ten Percent Happier- With the Ten Percent Happier app, you’ll discover guided meditations and practical teachings you can carry anywhere. Ten percent happier also includes a podcast and a newsletter so that you can get even more knowledge on mindfulness.

The Breathing App- The Breathing App is a simplistic app that has just the right amount of visuals and sound. It is an app that at this moment is only available on an Apple device.

Aura- Aura has thousands of meditations, stories, and life coaching from top mindfulness & life coaches around the world. The app offers meditation, music and stories.
